This policy describes what data fugu-ai.com (“we”, “this site”) processes and how. The short version: this site is a read-only publication. There are no user accounts, no comments, and no newsletter, and our interactive tools are built to keep your data in your browser.
Data we process
Server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure and our CDN/security provider (Cloudflare) record standard technical logs — IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp — for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to build visitor profiles.
Email. If you email us, we receive your address and message and use them only to reply. We don’t add you to any list.
The interactive tools
Cost calculator. Runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are never transmitted anywhere.
Playground (bring your own key). The playground calls the OpenRouter API directly from your browser using an API key you provide. Your key is held in your browser’s sessionStorage only: it is never sent to our server, never written to cookies or persistent storage, and never logged by us. It is deleted when you close the tab, and you can clear it at any time with the clear-key button. Your prompts and the model’s responses travel directly between your browser and OpenRouter — they never touch our infrastructure. That traffic is governed by OpenRouter’s privacy policy and terms, and by the policies of the model provider OpenRouter routes to. Do not submit personal or confidential information through the playground.
Cookies and advertising
We plan to show advertising served by Google AdSense. When ads are active, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before any advertising cookies are set. You can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
Beyond that, this site sets only the technical cookies needed to remember your consent choices, if any. If we ever add analytics, this policy will be updated first.
Your rights
We hold essentially no personal data about visitors beyond short-lived technical logs and any email you send us. If you want something we hold corrected or deleted, or you have any privacy question, email [email protected] and we will respond promptly.
Children
This site is a technical publication aimed at adults. The AI services we write about impose their own age requirements (Sakana’s terms require users to be at least 18). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If our data practices change — for example, when advertising goes live — we will update this page and its date.
